Universal Waste Systems has signed an agreement with the County to provide exclusive waste disposal and recycling services to the residents of West Whittier.

NEW RATE
As of July 1, 2011, the new rate for basic service is $18.95 per month or $56.85 per quarter. The discounted senior rate is $14.21 per month or $42.64 per quarter. This accounts for changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI), Producer Price Index (PPI), and solid waste disposal tipping fees. These rates were calculated in accordance with the terms of the franchise and was reviewed and verified by the County to ensure the adjustment is justified.

As part of the new service, each household received three 96-gallon containers free of charge: one green container for yard waste, one black container for refuse, and one blue container for recyclables. If you need more containers for either recyclables or green waste, you may receive one of each at no additional cost, upon request.

If you would like to exchange the 96–gallon carts for smaller carts, such as 64–gallon or 32–gallon carts, or receive additional carts, call Universal Waste Systems at (800) 631–7016 to arrange an exchange.
