Welcome to Clean LA -- a County of Los Angeles portal to a number of
award-winning programs that help residents, businesses, and government keep
the County clean and sustainable. From the basics of reduce, reuse
and recycle, to
household hazardous and electronic waste collection events and
composting; this site offers information and links to answer your
environmental questions: Where do I dispose of an old t.v.? How can I get a free
sharps container? What is the best way to save – time, money, resources –
the planet? Clean LA provides local solutions that contribute to global efforts.
California residents and businesses can now recycle leftover paint for free at local retail stores. For program details and locations, visit www.PaintCare.org or call 855-724-6809.
We are proud to announce the grand opening of the L.A. County Environmental Collection Center located at the EDCO Recycling and Transfer Center in the City of Signal Hill. Residents are encouraged to drop off their Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Electronic Waste (E-Waste) to the permanent center free of charge on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 9 AM to 2 PM, starting on March 9th. Please click here for more information.
Every Drop Counts!
Did you know that used motor oil never wears out and can be recycled and reused? Motor oil improperly disposed onto the ground or into storm drains can contaminate and pollute the soil, groundwater, and the ocean. Take your used motor oil to one of 650 certified collection centers in California or an auto parts store in your area to be recycled for free. A listing of certified collection centers is available at the State’s CalRecycle website (en Español). To look up the recommended oil change interval for your vehicle instead of defaulting to the oil standard of 3,000 miles, check your owners manual, or visit CheckYourNumber.org to easily find out for free the recommended time to change the oil on most vehicles made from 2000-2012. Click here for more information.
Visit the Environmental Programs Division Public Counter to get forms, apply for permits, request technical reviews for industrial waste or underground storage tank plans or methane gas migration protection systems.
