Workshops Workshops & Schedules Page
We encourage residents to attend a free Smart Gardening workshop. No reservation needed. Learn to improve your lawn and garden and reduce waste. Workshops are about 1.5 hours, held at our Learning Centers and at local events such as the Long Beach Home Show and County Fair. The Program also works with cities to provide workshops at community centers, libraries, parks, or schools. Beginning Workshops introduce you to smart gardening. Advanced Workshops are for those that love to garden (schedule is listed at bottom). To learn more about what is discussed in the workshops, visit our instruction videos.

Many agencies and private groups are also holding classes and events related to Smart Gardening. For those gardeners who want to learn more or visit an event close to home, we compiled a list of free (and not so free) classes and events to feed your interest.
