County Unincorporated Area Water Wasting Ordinance
The Board of Supervisors readopted an ordinance prohibiting water wasting in unincorporated areas of the County. Activities such as washing down driveways, parking lots, and sidewalks with a hose, watering between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., or overwatering to the extent that water runs off into the streets are prohibited and carry fines of up to $100 per violation. Countywide Water Supply and Conservation Alert
The Board of Supervisors has declared a Countywide Water Supply and Conservation Alert urging County residents, businesses, local water purveyors, and cities to intensify water conservation efforts and directing all County departments to immediately implement conservation measures to achieve a 15 to 20 percent reduction in overall water demand.
