Los Angeles County Recycling Market Development Zone
The purpose of the Los Angeles County Recycling Market Development Zone (RMDZ) is to promote a recycling industry that transforms post-consumer waste materials into usable products. The RMDZ offers a combination of business incentives and technical assistance for recycling manufacturers designed to retain and expand existing businesses and to attract new ones.
In addition, the RMDZ works to promote sales of manufactured products from feedstock material. The strategy is to encourage both market demand and product supply.
The RMDZ Program was developed by the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) as part of an ongoing effort to increase diversion of waste going to landfills.
The Los Angeles County RMDZ includes:
  • L.A. County unincorporated areas
  • Carson
  • El Monte
  • South Gate
  • Burbank
  • Commerce
  • Glendale
  • Vernon
